  • 3-D Hexi Quilt - with Candi Thorngren

    • The 3D Hexi Quilt is one of those quilting designs that instantly captures attention. With its clever arrangement of light, medium, and dark fabrics, this block creates a beautiful optical illusion that looks like a cube or hexagon popping right off the quilt top. It’s also a wonderful skill-building project because it teaches fabric value placement and precision piecing two essential techniques for confident quilting.

  • No-Pins Precision Curve Piecing - with Cathryn Scott

    • Explore a creative, improvisational approach to curved piecing inspired by Ricky Tims’ free‑form methods. This technique is designed for artistic quilts and expressive curved work, where smooth, flowing lines are created without pins, templates, or traditional curved‑piecing rules. Working from a shared pattern, you’ll learn the step‑by‑step process that brings these curves to life and create a small artful curved piece to take home. This relaxed, hands‑on class builds confidence and opens the door to new possibilities with a modern artistic approach to quilt making. It’s a technique I will be using to add an extra layer of interest and movement to my more traditional quilting

    • The sample pictures shown below are samples and displayed to give you an idea of the possibilities of this techniques. These pictures are from a month-long beginner’s level class, so the projects were very simple with large pieces.  As these were 36 x 36.  In our shortened version of the class we will focus on all the techniques from start to finish, on a much simpler and smaller scale.  Some of these samples use more advance techniques that we will not be covering in this basic class.

  • Portable Pressing Station - Made from a Wooden TV Tray - with Jo Nelson

    • Sometimes you just need a little more room at your sewing table, and sometimes you just need a small pressing station to take along to a sew day. This is for you!  The picture shows a topper that is stapled to the tray. This one has a draw string so it can be removed to wash or change out. - Supply List is available in Sign Ups

    • NOTE:  be on the lookout for a wooden TV tray to use with this project.  I've found them in thrift stores and garage sales, if you find one that is ugly or beat up you can (optionally) spray paint the legs to match the fabric.  Jo has 1 available on a first come first serve basis, so reach out to her if you need one.
